Hospederia Valle Del Ambroz Hotel Information
Boasting a unique location, the Parador de Jarandilla Hotel is a deluxe accommodation in Jarandilla de la Vera, Western Spain. How would you like to stay in a place where you can have a nap in guest rooms where powerful kings and many other noblemen have slept? Well, that place is the Parador de Jarandilla Hotel. Located in the core of a region as old as prehistoric times, this 4 star hotel in the countryside of Spain is the legacy of a population that has been shaped by a wide variety of different cultures. Celtiberians, Celtics, Phoenicians, Romans and Moors have built the fabric and tradition of Jarandilla de la Vera. The Parador de Jarandilla Hotel was originally the temporary refuge of Emperor Charles V, who after abdicating in favor of his son Phillip II, fled and went into hiding in this former 14th century castle built by the Count of Oropesa and the Marquis of Jarandilla. There are many unique relics at this exclusive hotel in Jarandilla, like the Gothic galleries, the fireplace specially built for Emperor Charles V, and an ancient garden featuring a fountain famous for its fortune properties. The surroundings offer hotel guests an endless list of monuments and places to visit. The prosperous town of Jarandilla is perhaps the most privileged place in Spain for excursions. Take a nice short drive to Losar, a small town situated ten minutes away from the hotel, and visit the Herminta del Humilladero Shrine. You can also go a little further to Valverde, where you can appreciate the local architecture and the Rollo de la Picota Monument, where criminals were hung in medieval times. All touristic points are just a stone's throw away from this elegant lodging. The hotel features 3 meeting and conference rooms complete with cutting-edge audiovisual equipment, specially conceived for corporate use. For an unforgettable family holiday, the hotel features an outdoor swimming pool, extensive gardens, outdoor patios with seating areas, welcoming common areas with fireplaces, and complimentary wireless Internet access throughout the building. At the hotel's restaurant you can enjoy mouth watering international and local dishes like Migas Extremenas (main course), Patatas Revolcadas (potatoes), tomato soup, Cuchifrito de Cochinillo (pork meat), and also tasty desserts like the fig cômpote.
The hotel was named after the emperor that lived in the old castle- palace that is the parador today. The building conserves its original walls and drawbridge. The two storey building centres around the splendid couryard adorned with old coats of arms. The front section of the patio has a cloister on one side and some large windows cut out of stone on the other.
