Hotel Silken Indautxu Bilbao Information
The hotel takes its name from the traditional district of Indautxu in the heart of the city’s commercial and financial area. Only ten minutes on foot from the Gugenheim Museum and other places of interest like the Fine Arts Museum and the Euskalduna Conference Centre. The building that houses the Silken Indautxu, with its fine exterior in the Bilbaino style and totally renovated interior, is just one example of that blending of the traditional with the modern that so well defines the spirit of this special city. Its exceptional location means it is easy to reach from the city’s main access-ways and from the airport. The hotel’s Etxaniz restaurant pays homage to the fame of Basque cuisine, one of the most prestigious in the world. The exquisite dishes of traditional Basque cuisine characterised by their simple preparation and the quality of their ingredients share the menu with more innovative and creative recipes. For informal meals it offers a marvellous buffet. If you’re looking for an informal meal, try the menu of the day or the tasty traditional “pintxos” (kebabs) at the Indautxu Cafe. The Indautxu cafe is open all day up to ten in the evening (midnight on weekends). El Muelle bar, modelled on the famous English pubs, also offers good cocktails and “combinados”, live music daily and special performances at weekends. The renovated Confort rooms have bright, spacious interiors featuring top quality materials and modern, avant-garde lines that combine comfort with elegance. With impeccable but welcoming decor they are designed to adapt to guests' requirements; there is a spacious desk, coffee table with two comfortable armchairs, and wireless Internet connection so you can make the most of your stay. They offer warm lighting, one queen-sized 1.80m by 1.90m bed or two 1.05m by 1.90m double beds with leather headboards, latest models of Pikolín mattresses and different types of pillows. All rooms have 26" plasma TVs with Canal + and satellite channels, individually controlled air conditioning and central heating, and a free safe.
