Hotel Linna has long been known as Vanha Poli (Old Poly). Designed by architects Walther Thomé and Karl Lundahl, the building was opened on 31 October 1903. Today, the building is considered as one of Finland’s finest examples of Finnish jugend, national romanticism. Vanha Poli served as the student union club building of Helsinki University of Technology until 1967, when it became a restaurant. Individuality and details are also featured in the rooms of the Hotel Linna, which have been refurbished in the spirit of the times. The hotel has a total of 48 rooms, 26 of which are single rooms, 21 twin rooms and 1 suite. Located on different floors, Linna’s meeting rooms are unlike traditional meeting rooms and provide individual solutions and comfort for up to 200 delegates. The choices range from banquet halls to a tower meeting room, all suited for hosting meetings, negotiations and training events. Traditional tiled stoves and open fireplaces help create a unique ambience in each room. Between meetings delegates can savour the invigorating the French flavours and surroundings.
Each room has: shower/bath, pay TV, broadband access, telephone, minibar, safe, desk, comfortable armchair and a reading lamp, room service.
This hotel is located in the city centre, just a short walk from the sights and shopping.
The rooms are located in a modern wing to the rear of the original historic "Castle" building in which all the public areas can be found. They are medium sized and in really beautiful condition having recently enjoyed a full renovation which saw them upgraded and decorated in modern style. Both the rooms and the bathrooms are in exceptional condition.
